Awesome Freeware

This thread is for promoting awesome freeware games you have found and liked.

So I start of with two:

First, I got Freeciv, which is basically an expanded Civilization II, made by fans, totally free. No big system requirements and all major OS are supported. "Because Civ should be free" as they say.

This game is a rather short, but quite thrilling adventure. I do not want to spoil too much of the story, but your avatar (a young woman) is seemingly all alone on a space station where apparently something truly ghastly has happened. Even if you are not a fan of Point&Click Adventures you should indulge in this little jewel if you like some otherworldly horror.

Xvid4psp - This handy thing turns almost any kind of video or audio into almost any other kind of video or audio. fairly easy to use, and you can output things to iPod format or PSP format, you can add subs, you can strip audio... It's great.

I recommend getting FoxyTunes, Update Notifier, MultirowBookmarksToolbar, DownloadStatusbar, and of course Personas, which are the coolest ways to skin anything.

Shoddybattle: It's a Java applet that emulates Pokémon, only it can connect you to anyone else on the server. You can create your own team in seconds, so you don't have to spend hours being bored while EV training and leveling. There are hundreds of people online at any given time, and just a warning; they're all really good.

Opinions aside, shoddybattle is a program that lets competitive battlers test strategies and battle each other more freely than running around with your DS all the time.

Savage 2 a tortured soul. Is an amazing Freeware game. It was professionally developed but the company after a while decided it would be much better free. It is basically a Multiplayer/lan/internet only game. One person plays the role of Commander and gets a view similar to RTS and sees the players on the ground. While the rest of the players play in a 3rd person/ 1st person perspective depending if they are using their melee weapon or their ranged weapon. There are many classes and you must build buildings to increase the classes you can make. Certain buildings also allow to you upgrade your weapons and armors. It would be awesome if anyone here got this game and decided to get a small game going. I would very much be up for it. ^_^.

Upside-down-ternet
If you run Wi-Fi, and you have leeches, you probably hate them. I can't be bothered to explain how, but this handy little thing, any pesky freeloaders have to deal with a hilarious trick: Their internet is upside down. Free and awesome.

I actually don't mind people using my wifi. It's easy enough to log their uses and if they get out of hand I can simply ban the MAC address. If they use to much I can just limit them. Sharing internet is a great thing. Logging on to others wifi has actually helped me in quite a few emergency situations when net access was required. Besides I'm all about the idea of a free society and often times publish my code for others to play with. And anything else I can find.

I understand the whole idea of pot luck net access, it'd be alright if I were on a campus or something, but living in a trailer park... Well, sometimes, I just like to flip their internets upside down.
