Hmmmm... I would say it looks promising, but considering the last games in the series (baring Shattered Memories) I rather wait and see.

[...I guess you have a point Sai. Still! It looks great. Silent Hill Homecoming was also a terrible game]

[It only had two scary parts! TWO! The beginning was SO badass! I loved the beginning. But then it got into this lame story and it wasn't terror based at all. Stuff just walked around and shit. Very disappointing for me]

I liked its story. And as I have said before I didn't find the Silent Hills scary in the first place. But the highlight of Homecoming was the Hotel.

[The Hospital was in the beginning. It was super sweet but the Hotel gets better points for being longer, at least maybe]

[I can offer a little more info than that. It will have a heavy emphasis on water [hence the name] and it will be the trigger for bringing out Silent Hill. Also, there will be no School or Hospital buildings, sadly. SH8 is also supposed to be very big, with a lot of exploration possible. So much that you will have a train station that can take you from place to place. There will be an emphasis on running from fights just as much as fighting [ugh, I hate that shit] much like Shattered Memories. They are supposed to use old school fixed camera angels in places as an even further homage to older horror games, which has me a little excited]

Or rather, like all classic Silent Hill games, which did not encourage fighting, not the least because of the horrible controls.
Shattered Memories had no fighting whatsoever.
Re: Silent Hill 8
Am I the only one here that liked Shattered Memories? I played it through three times =S
I am thinking of getting Homecoming, considering Moses comment, I suppose it's worth it?
And I frickin' like the fact that it's not all action! Silent Hill is a SURVIVAL Horror, like Resident Evil! You're not supposed to kill everything you see!

@Sai - [Well that's kinda the point though. But yeah, I don't like it when horror games force you to not fight shit]

[Homecoming was so-so in my opinion. It had moments where it was real dark and eerie, but then other areas were not scary at all. They put enemies all over the place and they don't catch you by surprise much. Homecoming really shined in the area of mystery. The plot was interesting for me, since I wanted to know shit. For instance, there will be little areas that are locked up and you're just dying to know what the hell is beyond the door. So that was nice. The only areas I really found scary was the hospital [you start in that] and the Hotel area. The rest of it was kinda shitty]
[Now, Resident Evil games, most of them at least, allowed you to kill pretty much anything. You would eventually run out of ammo, sure, but it would take a lot longer for this to really happen, unless you were on harder difficulties where enemies were fucking everywhere. But that took away the suspense and freight for me personally. When the game isn't crawling with them, but has plenty, you don't know when you will find one]
