The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword
Well, it's time for yet another wondrous installment from the Zelda saga. With graphics and gameplay looking to be a cross between Windwaker and Twilight Princess, it looks to be a interesting play at the least.
While the Wii-mote is the sword, the nun chuck is now the shield. It shows the standard shield position to allow Link protection, but also shows a shield bash that can knock enemies or even send projectiles back at the attacker. Also, when not in combat mode or targeting an enemy,
the gamer can hold the A button to make Link run (hello Pegasus boots?).
Traditionally we had to pause the game to switch items, but now Nintendo has given us a new pocket system. When you hold down B it will reach Link’s hands into his pockets and bring up a live action menu to quickly access and choose your weapon or item of choice without interrupting the game. And we have already seen that classics like the bomb, sling shot and bow and arrow will be making a return."

Link, in Skyward Sword, is born and raised in a place called Sky
Loft. What makes Sky Loft unique is that it is high up in the clouds.
Though this sounds weird to the average person, Link finds it to be
highly normal. However, when land is discovered underneath the clouds
everything begins to change for Link. For this newly found land is ruled
by evil forces and Link ends up drawn into a fight to change that. In
Skyward Sword, Link will have to travel back and forth between Sky Loft
and this newly found land to complete his adventure. To do so, he will
get help from the Skyward Sword…the very sword that will later become
the Master Sword.
"With this new style of graphics also comes a brand new control scheme. Once again the Wii-mote will control the sword, but by utilizing the Wii motion plus it is more accurate than before and fully emerses the gamer into the sword play. Rather than simple flicking your wrist to swing, the sword stays in place based on where and how you are holding the wii-mote. To do a vertical cut you have to swing vertically and so on with a horizontal slice. If the player swings and holds the wii-mote outwards, the sword will stay held outwards in Link’s hands. The sword spin attack move is also back which is done by swinging both hands at the same time. Something new to the recent series is a charged up attack that shoots a beam. By holding the sword upwards to the heavens, it will become charged allowing you to release a beam outwards.Loft. What makes Sky Loft unique is that it is high up in the clouds.

Looks nothing like The Minish Cap. <3 TMC. But yeah. Looks like a more graphical Windwaker.

We are now nearing the release of this. Early 2011 they projected. I might be the odd one for wanting to play this. I do hate mandatory motion control, but It's a Zelda...so Ima try it regardless.

I'm going to try the game, but damn do I hate the graphics. The graphics (and the endless sailing) killed Wind Waker for me. I hope it won't do the same here.

The graphics aren't everything. If it's a good game I'll play it, pure and simple. Though I would have to agree with you on the "endless sailing" hurting the game. I love Wind Waker but the sailing kills the re-play. Every game gonna have something in it your not going to like. For instance; I can't stand the beginning to Twilight Princess, but that's not gonna stop me from enjoying it. For Skyward sword, it's all going to depend on how well the motion control is executed. That's just my opinion though.

[Well said Beard! I also look forward to the story of how the Master Sword came to pass. I am also to believe that the creators were saying this one will tie some of the games together story wise, we will have to wait and see if that is true]

Ah, the story of the Master sword. I never thought they'd go back in time with the story.

Yay I can't wait for this game! Hopefully something Nintendo won't disappoint me with also I liked all the sailing in wind waker, it was more fun to explore the whole map in wind waker than in Twilight princess, but that's my opinion and hopefully Skyward sword will have what we love about legend of zelda, lovely dungeons, epic sized bosses, weird yet cool items, great story plot and the treasure chest opening theme!!!! XD

[Well, this game is going to explain the origins of The Master Sword, so I don't think the story can get any more epic than that! So yes, a lot to be excited about but...you have to use Motion+ to control your sword. This is a huge disappointment for AT9, whom would like the option to use a Gamecube controller or just the Wii controller's buttons, not swing his arms like a baffoon]

It's mandatory to have Motion+? Oh crap... like I don't have enough crap to spend my money on <.< I has disappoint. This is what I hate about Nintendo. "We constantly throw new gadgets all over the place, and come up with "new systems" every second week, and if you want to play our games you HAVE to buy these new really unnecessary gadgets and upgrades! Hooray!"

Oh for anyone interested. Nintendo basicly said this game is done. And will be released "no long after" the release of OoT on the 3DS.

I agree I think nintendo are going over the top on gadgets and then they modify games so you need this shit like i bet you don't actually NEED the motion + for skyward sword but they're gonna make it so you will just so you'll buy it if you don't already have it.

[I would agree with you all. Plus, I think they automatically assume just because it's a new technology that it's automatically something everyone wants to use, which is not true at all. A lot of people hate MC. Anyway, awesome news MOsEs!]
