Final Fantasy X-2
platform: PS2
Basic story line:
Final Fantasy X-2 begins as Yuna, Rikku and Paine recover Yuna's
stolen Garment Grid from the Leblanc Syndicate in the first of several
encounters in which they vie for spheres. The game is punctuated by a
narration of Yuna addressing Tidus, as though she is recounting the
events of the game to him as they occur in a style reminiscent of
Tidus' own narration in Final Fantasy X. Although Yuna's quest
is to find clues that may lead her to Tidus, much of the storyline of
the game follows the clash of the factions that have established
themselves in the time since the coming of the Eternal Calm in Final Fantasy X, and the uncovering of hidden legacies from Spira's ancient history
down to buisness, haviong spent 3 days trying to find a copy of FF X i found one..problem is it turned out to be buggered (fucked/broken/scratched beyond repair) so i took it back and replaced it with this one thinking it might be good and everything people say about it are wrong, but low and behold i was half right , the fight system is weird the way you get around is worse... i could have sworn i was playing a 3D version of FF tactics if it weren't for the non chess like movement
ok i know i shouldn't have bought this but i sank past the point of desperation .... P4 was pissing me off bad and FF tactics A2 is becoming tedious
yeah so what are your thoughts on this game

Class switch system was also well done, not so greatly executed, but the idea.

Well the "dress up" part is more like the transform scenes of Sailor Moon than anything barbie does.

[FFIX didn't force you to watch certain things, especially the summoning cinematics. They specifically got a lot of feedback from fans about that with seven, so they implemented the 'boost' thing in FF8, which I know you know about MOsEs. From there, fans liked it, but wanted a bit more diversity, so the summon system in 9 was developed. Basically, besides the very first time you summon an Eidolon, you only see the short animation for it. However, this is the weaker version of the attack. To get the full strength of the attack, you need to find the Pumice Pieces and equip them to learn a move named boost. When you learn this move and equip it, you will see the full animation every time the Eidolon is summoned, thus increasing the power. If you would rather not use boost, but want more power, every Eidolon in the game has a certain item that, when in your inventory, makes it stronger. The more you have of this particular item, the stronger it will get. For instance, 99 Garnets makes Bahamut the strongest he can be. You do not feed them, just merly have them in your inventory. Anyway, probably went waaaay to descriptive and in detail on that one. You have my words]

Re: Final Fantasy X-2
[As another point, Sailor Moon is an anime, not a game. Therefore its' a bit ridiculous to have to watch that stuff when trying to play an RPG, not to mention FF games were never about something so...flimsy and family oriented. Also, they fucked over how every character looked, made Rikku seem like a lesbian, and suprise! It marks the first FF game that was made by the Enix peckers instead of the Soft team. And before anyone decides to say that Enix made FFX...they didn't. They bought out Soft AFTER the game had been finished. Look in a FFX booklet. you'll see Enix being all childish "this game is owned soley by Enix. However, you may see the name 'squaresoft' in various parts of the game and credits, those are invalid. FF is now owned by Enix" or something like that. They plastered their name all over FFX merchandise and everything, trying to act like they had a hand in making FFX. And guess what? 12 sucks! Why? Enix. Now, with 13, they finally decided that maybe, just maybe, the square soft team knew how to make good FF games. From there, they hired some of the older guys, higher ups, to work on 13. Oh snap, I could have gone on and on about that. Anyone interested about more details on 13 and who worked on it can ask me]

While it was Enix that absorbed Square the leadership of SquareEnix consists mainly of ex-Square managers.
Re: Final Fantasy X-2
[Right now, certainly. They decided to get some good Square members in on the FF games after a period of suck. Kitase is one of the good dudes in the team]

Re: Final Fantasy X-2
what's good about FF X-2 ummmmmm *thinks for 2 hours* scantly clad women? other than that I can't think of anything I really liked about the game, imo it failed as a FF game and you know what? I reject it as a FF game, it isn't up to FF standards I liked FF XII more than I liked this game, THAT'S RIGHT I WENT THERE!
