I have a few problems with this list but most of them over looked since the majority of the list if from WAY BACK from the SNES and NES era. I can see why Mario, Link, and Samus made the list but why was GTA so far up the list!!!????

Why do people actually read lists of top fav games made by someone else,
if they got their very own fav list in their mind? It's pure random if the game you like is in the list, but what does it matter? Like your everyday gaming depends on that list. A list is just an opinion by someone else. The only thing a list of fav games is good for is that it may give suggestions. "Hey that sounds interesting, I'm gonna play that game."
But overall a fav game list is just something that pisses other people off. People always come around and say
"Hey! HEY! My favourite game isn't in that list!? That man is a fool, yo!"
Well, why? Because it's the list of someone else. So how can there be all your favourite games listed in it? Excerpt of pure random or you make all the games listed your favs afterwards?
It's impossible. And why they gotta tell you what's good and what's not? Does it make your favourite game bad if it's not in the list? No.
So, read a fav game list (when you're in the mood),
note down whatever seems interesting and get the hell outta there. And never ever let them tell you what's the best game in the world. Because that's for you to decide. If you're still able yourself to decide.

[I do agree that overall, it is someone's list of fav's, not yours, so yes its' going to be different. However, they are not casting it as their favorite games, they are declaring them to actually be the best games ever. Furthermore, regardless of ones' decision for a great game, there are some that shouldn't make the top twenty, like NES games. Yes, some were good. Yes, graphics is NOT everything. Almost all of my favorite games are from the 96-2002 era. But the thing is, Nintendo games lacked a lot of quality things, since they were so technologically disadvantaged. For instance, length. Replay value. Storyline. You can't really have a decent bit of any of those things, because the games were limited to their max size. The only reason people still consider the original Zelda great is because one, it was a lot of fun for a NES game, and two, it was the first Zelda ever. THAT is the reason Zelda is number one of the list, because its' the first of a long going popular series, NOT because they actually consider it to be the greatest game of all. Its' idiocy. By that same coin, you can tell they kept placing titles higher up on the chain if it was the first in the series. Fuck their list. Fuck it thrice and burn it to dust]

tl;dr

I am a subscriber to GI and i have to say that the reviews of games is fair and pretty un biased. but seeing this top 200 list made me go nuts! I would understand a top 20 and mayyyyybe a top 50. but making a top 200 just cause that is the number issure you are on is way too much to judge. I doubt anyone could make a top 100 without pissing off almost everyone
