Meh 1 was ok, same with 2.

2 was actually pretty decent as Action Adventures go.

i found all the tomb raider games boring as hell. also cant wait for ff 13 and i liked ff12 for a while i mean it didn't feel as fantastical as the other ff games but i liked the battle system it was a welcome change to all the boxes of spells attacks and specials i mean jeebus on ff10 by the end of the game you can hardly see the screen through all the boxes and i got sic of walking 2 steps the getting attacked i was so sick of it i stoped playing it for a while but. yea so baisically this new one looks awesome and fantastical and i hope it has the same (if not better) battle system as ff12 because i cant be assed with walking 2 steps and being attacked again i swear.

im playing this at the moment and disappointingly i can't rely call it an rpg anymore :( its so linier it might as well be a 3rd person hack slash shooter thingy not sure but you get the point not an rpg anymore but the battle system is nothing short of amazing the way you level up fight heal everything about the fighting is new and i have to say if it wasn't so linear i'd have to say it is the best one yet but the story is a bit flimsy so far but i'm only half way through the game and i have to say the awe inspiring graphics are getting dull seen as how there is a cut scene every 5 mins -_- the new production team need to tone down the cut scenes seriously and you cant even watch them again in an event viewer or anything of the like as you could in ffx'2 or previous games which is disappointing to say the least. also i find the accents on two of the characters to be very annoying and a third is just an out right pussy my bro who nearly completed the game before i came back from holiday said he mans up but i still think he is a little emo kid so what if you saw your mum de in front of you frankly id be happy if that happened.

Give it a while. After a period of being linear, you're dumped into the middle of a free roam area and pretty much told to "Go nuts."

Not to defend FF13 in any way. But I remember FF10 (and most FFs infact) working the same way. You went on this "rail" of story, got the airship and was free to explore.

I guess FF XIII felt better executed, but Moses is correct, of course.

Still consider FFX the second best I have played, after VI.

true but it alot more linear your much more aware of the linearness of ff13

I am in the beginning/middle of this game.Everyone seems to bitch a lot about linearity.I am really enjoying it.It's one of the many reasons I love FF X.I think keeping the game linear keeps the player focused on the story.Which is the main reason I play RPG's.I do wish more of the cut-scenes would be about the story rather than the characters freaking out and bitching at each other.
