Well to be fair, I never said I didn't like pop. Just that I didn't drink it. And you can grow up in a house hold where there is no pop around.

Moses, you are the only American I know who doesn't annoy me by saying soda every time they talk about pop. Not a single person here calls it soda. (Maybe it's that bit of Canadian in you?)

Its not, we are so close to Canada that it is common, but in the south all pops are called "Cokes", and most of the rest of the US is Soda/Soda Pop. Only like 6 upper north/Midwest state use the term pop regularly.

lol, yeah when you say pop it sounds REALLY awkward cause we've never heard people actually call it that. Whenever people here say pop they're making fun of people in like history and stuffs. I think I like the word pop better it sounds cooler, but there is no way I would actually be able to incorporate it into my talkings, especially since I rarely drink soda... pop? Does Canada call it pop too? thats cool! haha

ALL acceptable uses of pop... Soda is what everyone here uses for the fizzy substance that you drink out of a can (or bottle)

Yeah, never use the term soda in Canada. People will look at you like you have mental issues. Or know you're American. In some places that means the same thing.

... the only thing Soda can be confused for is baking soda, and nobody ever thinks about that. Generally speaking, I call sodas by their names. Mountain Dew. Pepsi. Root Beer. Vault. It's all good.

Well to be fair when you call it pop, and so does everyone else. When you say it, its the first thing that comes to mind. When I hear soda I think of baking.

I'm with Moses on this one.

Lets put it this way, to us, hearing you say soda is like you hearing someone say chips instead of fries.
