I do agree with that, sales wise at least.Call of duty is a very popular game series.Even if the game did suck ass,it would still sell well.Look at ST. Anger by Metallica. Most Metallica fans hated the album:however,it still sold an amazing amount.Fans usually don't look before they buy when it comes to very succesful things.

But metallica has a big hardcore following. I dont think Call of Duty has a following that big. Also it got good ratings by a lot of reliable sits and what not.

ALthough, it looks good it belongs on the list of games I need to boycott.
I will not support Activision Blizzard's handling of the Win version.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
1. The price of the PC version is obscene for a PC game. They want to milk us hard.
2. No dedicated server support in the PC version. This Penny Arcade got it: http://www.penny-arcade.com/comic/2009/10/23/
3. The PC version is a XBOX 360 port. This means little optimization for PC hardware and also things that are totally normal for a shooter on the PC (like being able to lean) not being in.
It is like they are actually trying to bully people into buying the console versions. Fair business practice, but I will not support that with my money.

@Black Beard
I think Lost Planet was actually developed and published by capcom...
BUt yeah, Activision Blizzard seems to be doing a lot of shit. The new Battle.net seems to shape into a new player-milking machine as well.

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Well, I think Blizzard was a lot better once, delivering games by gamers for gamers, but sine World of Warcraft they pretty much lost it completetly. They got too succesful it seems.
Also, Funny Fact: They will now develop a Wii version of the original Modern Warfare, with the subtitle "Reflex".

Re: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
[Really, I think a whole lot of game developers have lost sight of what it is to make a good game. They don't focus on making 'the game for the game' and instead put teams on ridiculous time schedules that shouldn't even exist, all so they can get more money faster. When DragonBallZ Tenkaichi 2 came out, there was something obviously wrong. People could sense that graphically, the effects were somehow in sandbox mode, which is unacceptable for a DBZ title. What's more, people didn't know how to use the controls, as they were different from Tenkaichi 1. Well, the REAL interesting part of this was there was a very limited tutorial system, like they had been pulled off the game before they could finish the title. Tenkaichi 3 was later released, and almost everyone touted it as 'the game that Tenkaichi 2 was supposed to be.' It was literally almost the same game, yet with much better graphical effects, more levels to choose from, and more moves, as T2 characters had the same moves! Every character had the same standard melee moveset. Also, T3 had a fully fleshed out tutorial system]
[After some research, I discovered that Bandai was putting year long time schedules on the team that made DBZ games. What's more, each and every year, they were immediately put on a new DBZ game project, therefore there is no time for the team to think of new, cool ideas to bring to the table. Also, before the year is even up, the game has to be finished and handed in. As a result, if something is not finished, say a new feature or {cough} a tutorial system, it has to be scrapped or left as is, Bandai doesn't give two shits about finished product]
[Now, this same abuse of fans' money was used once again by Bandai, but even higher of a calibre this time. DragonBallZ, Burst Limit. Bandai wanted a new gen DBZ game, and ordered it to be made. This game was completely DEVOID of any extra modes, tutorials, and even lacked a storyline. With the exception of a few short cinematics, {possibly only three of them} the game had nothing to get the player into the game story wise. The menu itself for choosing the fight you wanted was actually solid black, and the fights themselves were thumbnails that you clicked. The price for this 'new gen experience' ? Fullprice. Pay sixty dollars, all ye DBZ fans, pay it up now and watch us laugh at you. We're spitting in your face, yet you don't see it]
[Bandai is only going to get worse with this. This year, instead of releasing one DBZ game, they have released THREE DBZ games. While I am excited about this, I'm also turned off. I dont' except much from these games because I happen to know that the team had eight to ten months to make three fucking games]
[This is what goes on with many companies, and I'm sure Blizzard does the same. Yes, they milk the fans. What's more, I'm pretty certain from what I've heard from Saibot that, if they aren't putting short time schedules and not fully fleshing out their games at this moment, I'm sure they will be eventually. A game company used to cram the game with as many features as possible, and spend time in a room with others thinking of new ideas. Now its' just a job that you do mindlessly. We, as the gamers, have the power to change this. When you consider this, Saibots' stand against Blizzard is even more admirable] -[AT9]

[Really? That certainly sucks. I mean, I understand Hack-and-slash games being short, since after too long it gets boring, but you'd think a third person shooter could stand to be 15 hours]
